her new skirt

Finley: Good mooooooooorning, Aunt Jessssica!
Me: [in a complete morning haze] Good morning, honey. I love you. Fin, we should take pictures of you today in that new outfit I bought you....remember how I want to get some pictures of you in that new skirt?
Finely: Yea, I don't think so. ...... Wanna go to the park?!
Me: Sure. You have school today, don't you?

[Finley acting as if she's just been reminded of the saddest news ever. She actually loves school, but you see, her favorite aunt & uncle are in town and so that means that school = not nearly as much fun.]

Finley: [after some deep, gifted thinking] Aunt Jessica!? I have an idea! Let's dress me up in those new clothes you bought me, go to the park and do an all-day photo shoot. Then I won't go to school because we'll be taking photos!

Then off to her bedroom she went, coming out perfectly suited for our photo shoot - even with bow perfectly tied - thanks to her "craaaazy" Uncle Corey.

We did go to the park. We did take photos (only a few because the playground was enticing her all the while). And, she did go to school. It was a productive day. Spent with a little girl that lights up my life.
