My husband's family is from Buffalo, NY and since he was a little boy he has loved the Bills. I've never understood why/how he could still be such an avid fan. They're not good and haven't been for quite some time. I think he's still waiting for their time to come. The poor team went to the Superbowl 4 times in the 90's and never could win an NFL championship. So anyway, I thought it would be sooo sweet of me to suprise him with Bills/Browns tickets. The problem with this idea is that I bought the tickets for him in October. I'm from Tennessee. We don't have blizzards. I never thought twice that buying him tickets to a game next to Lake Erie would mean that I would have to sit through a 3 hour game in a blizzard. Literally. A blizzard. The wind chill factor left the temperature at a single digit and the snow left us looking like snowmen. Oh, and I thought UGGS were originally made for eskimos?? Not true. By the time we got back to the car I had standing water in them. No lie. My mother-in-law said that it was our induction to the north. Time to get some warmer clothes...
One more thing...the storm hit the entire state of Ohio. Here's what the interstates looked like the entire way to Cleveland. What should have been a 4-hour drive, took us 7 long hours. We guesstimate that we saw around 40 wrecks, 3 with our own eyes.
That morning when we got up it was raining. By noon this is what it looked like outside the tram on our way to the game. Yowza.
Honestly, I could not ever tell who had the ball. Everyone looked the same to me...white.(in case you're wondering, the score was Browns: 8, Bills: 0 (yes, zero)). The things you do for love....
