It was dirty & smelly...

...and perfect for some back-alley, urban-style engagement photos. T & L wanted to get some good photos of the two of them since there won't be any fancy wedding photos. They've decided to spare themselves the money and headaches for a bona-fide Las Vegas elopement. Cheers & blessings to you both!

{Down one of the alleys was a flower pot with the most gorgeous, single flower blooming. It instantly looked like a perfect place for a ring shot}

Yesterday my "ass." demanded that we take photos of me. I remained silent about it all day hoping she'd forget. She didn't. She wouldn't. I even told her I was tired and should probably just take a nap instead. She was determined. I said I'd do it under one circumstance: that she not make me change. "Please don't make me dress up. I'll look (i.e. feel) like a doofus." Fine. Deal. Let's go.

About 8 seconds into it I suddenly realized just how good this was for me, too. I was awkward. Uncomfortable. Didn't know how to stand or where to look. Should I smile, 1/2 smile, look serious. Should I look away so that it looks more candid??

Now I know what people feel like when they show up for their photo shoot. I was seriously nervous! I couldn't believe it. There's just something so intimidating about a little, black thing staring at your every move. I was happy when it was over and thankful that I have a better understanding & appreciation for what people feel as I'm the one behind the little-black-staring-at-your-every-move thing. I salute you all.
