I'm not a wedding photographer. I am though the sister-in-law to an amazing guy who's marrying an equally amazing woman on Saturday. I have the honor (and stress!) to document their big day. And, although I am so excited for the challenge, I am also freaking out. What a giant job! And, I want it to be just perfect....
This week I had a dream that on the day of the wedding the entire wedding party had arrived for their pictures and I suddenly realized that my camera battery was completely dead. I woke up in a dead sweat and then later that day drove to my local camera shop for a 2nd battery. I then had another dream that I woke up the day after the wedding and remembered that I had completely forgotten to get any pictures with any of the wedding party in it! I called everyone to meet me, but when they showed up they were in street clothes and they all simultaneously jumped in a pool nearby. Again, I woke up startled and then laid there thinking about the fun, creative pictures I could get with a bunch of people jumping and playing in a pool. :)
I don't think I'll forget any important gear, but I am a bit worried about the flash flooding they're calling for tomorrow (Friday) into the evening. The wedding is at a local park in a beautiful neighborhood in Knoxville, TN and is at 2 p.m. on Saturday. We're praying that the rains will stop in time for the ceremony. There is no plan B.
So, anyway, for any of you who read this say a little prayer for us all. I have great expectations for their big day and I so hope it all comes together just right.
And, your picture of the day is of my husband yelling at me to please stop taking pictures of him (practicing with my flash) and COME EAT DINNER!!! Oh, how I love this man. Sometimes I wish I had a pocket-sized version of him to carry around in my pocket.
Great Expectations
