I turned this photo in for homework for one of my photography classes. My teacher said that she thought the picture was beautiful, but wasn't quite sure why I made the water look like anti-freeze. I was so happy to tell her that I had not edited the colors in this picture one bit. That's what beautifully clean, untouched waters look like. Oh, and all the limestone helps with the aqua color. Isn't it beautiful!? This picture was taken in Croatia at their Plitvice (plit-vis-a) Lakes National Park.
Fast fact: The first armed confrontation of the Croatian War for Independence occured here in 1991. Croats had to fight for almost five more years in order to fully claim their independence from the Yugoslavian National Army. (If I had been taught this in school I would only have remembered it for test day. Honestly...who cares about a war in Croatia, right? That is why I believe so strongly in the importance of travelling. Spending a week driving through the country gave me an appreciation for what this country has been through to get to where they are today.) God bless Croatia. :)
